In the end, roughly about 100,000 people died in the Bosnian Genocide. It's important to know about this event because it's the second worst genocide in Europe following the Holocaust. In addition, it is important to recognize the use genocide to destroy the group of people by their religious views and ethnicity. Everybody no matter the person deserves the right to decide their religious beliefs. It's a problem when people discriminate against and exterminate a person for their ethnicity and nationality. We as human beings cannot allow others to judge whether we live or die just because of our ancestry and beliefs. What we can learn from the Bosnian genocide, is that governments and people should not interfere with the civilian's lifestyle. The Bosnian genocide is an important event to learn about even today because it allows governments to create laws and future policies for civil and human rights.
